RENEWING LICENSEES AND REGISTRANTS:
Companies holding a Mortgage Lender, Broker/Processor License or Registration in Georgia have until April 1, 2009 to complete and submit through the NMLS: Form MU1 for their company, Form MU2 for the Qualifying Individual, Control Person(s) and Branch Manager(s), and Form MU3 for each currently APPROVED branch location.

NEW APPLICANTS:
LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: For those entities who would like to apply for a new license or registration in Georgia AFTER January 1, 2009, a description of and the requirements for obtaining a broker's or lender's license and registration can be found on the NMLS website. A checklist for each application is also available for download. Applications will be submitted through the NMLS system, and Georgia jurisdiction specific information is required to be submitted directly to the Department. A listing of required supplemental information is contained on the NMLS website in the CHECKLIST which should be available prior to December 31, 2008.
Paper form applications will no longer be accepted for license and registration applications or for changes to your record on file with the Department after December 15, 2008. Application forms and instructions will be available at the NMLS website beginning January 2, 2009.
BRANCHES: Companies who hold active licenses or who are applying for a new license in Georgia as either a broker/processor or lender must apply for any branch locations which are to be operated within the state of Georgia. Application for or registration of branches not located in Georgia is not required. Applicants for REGISTRATION of their mortgage business do not have to have branches approved. Please also see the FAQs regarding NET BRANCHING in Georgia, a practice which is generally not allowed.
