Mortgage Loan Originator Continuing Education Deadline

Add to Calendar
Tue, 10/31/2017 - 11:59pm

Continuing education (CE) is required to renew a mortgage loan originator license. All renewing mortgage loan originators must complete 8 hours of continuing education, including 1 GA elective hour, by October 31, unless the required 20 hours of pre-licensing education (PE) was completed in 2017 (this deadline may be earlier than other states).  Completed CE’s will be reported by education providers through NMLS.  No separate reporting is required.

The Department may assess a $100 late fee via an Agency Fee Invoice in NMLS if the CE requirement is not met by October 31; the late CE fee will be required as part of the renewal application.  Licensees that have not met the CE requirements will not be permitted to renew.  Renewal applications with unpaid late CE fees will be considered incomplete.

To find out when and where necessary course work will be offered to satisfy Georgia’s continuing education requirements, mortgage licensees should visit the NMLS website at http://mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org/profreq/education/Pages/default.aspx.
