Department of Banking and Finance Enters into a Consent Order with Homeowners Mortgage of America, Inc. and its Officers

 - On July 21, 2011, the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance (“Department”) entered into a Consent Order with Homeowners Mortgage of America, Inc. (“Homeowners Mortgage”), License Number 14389, Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System Number 112057, located at 225 Waters Street, Suite 2100, Jacksonville, Florida, 32202 and its officers, Terilyn Callicott, Paul Scott and Kris Williams, to resolve allegations pertaining to violations of the Georgia Residential Mortgage Act and agency rules. 

The terms of the Consent Order include the following:

  • Homeowners Mortgage shall develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality controls that will ensure compliance with all applicable Georgia laws and regulations including, but not limited to, implementing measures to ensure that Homeowners Mortgage employees are subject to an appropriate level of supervision at all times.
  • Homeowners Mortgage shall perform background checks for all new employees before or within 10 days of their initial hire and annually thereafter.
  • Homeowners Mortgage shall contribute $2,000 to the State Regulatory Registry, LLC to support the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
  • Homeowners Mortgage shall remit $23,000 in fines to the Department.
