Georgia Department of Banking and Finance Enters into a Consent Order with Russell Thurston Tanner

- On October 27, 2011, the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance (“Department”) entered into a Consent Order with Russell Thurston Tanner, mortgage loan originator’s license number 26027, Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (“NMLS”) number 204257, located in Bogart, Georgia, to resolve allegations pertaining to violations of the Georgia Residential Mortgage Act and agency rules. 

The terms of the Consent Order include:

  • Mr. Tanner shall complete 4 hours of education on the Georgia Residential Mortgage Act;
  • Mr. Tanner shall also fully cooperate in any regulatory, administrative, civil or criminal investigation with respect to any person by whom residential mortgage activities were performed by or through Cornerstone Mortgage Company dba Brayden Capital Home Loans; and,
  • Mr. Tanner shall make a contribution to the State Regulatory Registry, LLC to support the NMLS.
