Department’s Amended Order to Cease and Desist Issued to Colleen Marie Gilley Becomes Final

September 30, 2015

Atlanta, Georgia — On September 17, 2015, the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance’s (“Department’s”) Amended Order to Cease and Desist (“Order”) issued to Colleen Marie Gilley (“Ms. Gilley”) became final.

The Order provided that after conducting an investigation into Ms. Gilley’s application for a mortgage loan originator’s license, the Department determined that Ms. Gilley had violated O.C.G.A. § 7-1-1013 by making false statements and material misrepresentations to the Department in connection with her license application.

Following a hearing before the Commissioner on August 18, 2015, a Final Order was issued on September 17, 2015, which upheld the Amended Order to Cease and Desist issued to Ms. Gilley.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 7-1-1004, the Department may revoke the license of a mortgage broker or lender that employs an individual against whom a final Order to Cease and Desist has been issued within the preceding five (5) years if the Order resulted from a violation of O.C.G.A. § 7-1-1013.
