Final Order of Revocation of Money Transmitter License Issued to Fortress Trust, LLC
Atlanta, Georgia – On November 24, 2025, the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance (“Department”) issued a Final Order of Revocation of Money Transmitter License to Fortress Trust, LLC (“Fortress Trust”), NMLS No. 2318097.
The Order provided as grounds for the revocation that Fortress Trust is insolvent. The Order further provided as grounds for the revocation that Fortress Trust has “operated in an unsafe or unsound manner,” specifically by failing to maintain operational liquidity and resources to fulfill its outstanding obligations. Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 7-1-689(l)(7), the Department may make available to the public the terms or a copy of any bond filed by a licensee. Accordingly, a copy of surety bond no. EACX4010258 issued by Endurance Assurance Corporation (a wholly owned subsidiary of Sompo Holdings, Inc.), NAIC No. 11551, related to Fortress Trust’s money transmitter license is included with this press release.
Georgia residents who wish to file a claim against the surety bond in connection with outstanding money transmission liabilities that may be owed to them by Fortress Trust may contact the surety via email at [email protected], by telephone at 877-676-7575, or by visiting the surety’s website at https://www.sompo-intl.com/find-an-expert/#report-claim. The Department does not administer the bond claim process.
Georgia consumers seeking guidance about their options for how to proceed may wish to consult with their own attorney, as the Department cannot provide legal advice.
