Credit Union Regulators
The Department supervises Georgia-chartered credit unions but does not supervise other credit unions. Credit unions that are chartered in another state are typically supervised and regulated by that state’s banking or credit union agency. The National Credit Union Administration (“NCUA”) supervises and regulates federally chartered credit unions.

The NCUA provides a search function which you can utilize to find a particular credit union with federal share/deposit insurance, which can be accessed at mapping.ncua.gov/. This site also provides information on credit unions, including location, asset size, contact information, and website information as applicable.
