I have a question or complaint about my bank...
The Georgia Department of Banking and Finance does not regulate banks that are federally chartered (e.g., Wells Fargo, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase) or headquartered in another state (e.g., Regions Bank, BB&T).
Georgia is host to offices of national and state-chartered banks that are headquartered in other states. National banks are chartered and regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The regulator of the state where the bank is chartered/headquartered, the “home state” regulator, retains the primary responsibility for the chartering, regulation and examination of the out-of-state state bank.
If you have a question about whether an entity is regulated by the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance, use our Bank Search Page. If you do not see your bank when using our state-chartered bank search, please utilize the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's Bank Find database to determine what type of charter (state or national) your bank has and who the appropriate regulator is.

National Banks and Federal Savings Banks/Thrifts
If your bank is a national bank (which has the word National in its name, for example First National Bank or has N.A. after its name), you should contact the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The OCC is the primary Federal regulator responsible for nationally chartered commercial banks.
If your bank is a federal savings and loan association, federal savings bank or federal thrift (which has the word "Federal" in its name, for example First Federal Savings and Loan Association, Anytown Federal Bank or has FSB or FA after its name), you should contact the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). NOTE: Effective July 21, 2011, the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) became part of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
